About the Intel® Embedded Design Center

Intel® Embedded Design Center (Intel® EDC) provides registered users with fast access to in-depth technical collateral and tools for leading embedded platforms.

+ Frequently asked questions

Content

+ Why does the Intel EDC include some Intel embedded platforms and not others?

The Intel EDC supports leading embedded platforms based on Intel's latest technology. These platforms are selected on the basis of performance/watt, low power, reduced thermals and system-on-a-chip (SOC) integration. Selected platforms include validated combinations of processors and chipsets that are supported by available application reference designs, software, development tools (including loaner tools) and training.

+ Will you add new platforms – and if so, when?

New platforms will be added as new Intel embedded processors and chipsets are launched, and as new collateral, documentation, tools and software become available. See the embedded product line card for more information on Intel’s embedded product lines.

+ Why is some content locked?

Intel private information (indicated by a lock symbol) may only be disclosed to third parties under a valid Corporate Non-Disclosure Agreement (CNDA). Access to locked content on the Intel Embedded Design Center is limited to users who have received approval of their Private Registration Request.

+ Where can I get information about Intel’s other embedded products?

Information about Intel’s embedded product lines is available at www.intel.com/embedded

Help/support

+ Where can I get support?

Please click on the Support link on the Intel Embedded Design Center home page to access available customer support.

+ Where can I buy Intel embedded products?

You can get information about where to buy Intel products by clicking on the Where to Buy link on the Intel Embedded Design Center home page.

+ What is Find it fast?

Find it fast speeds the search process by letting you narrow your search criteria to a specific topic area (example: hardware) and document category (example: benchmarks). You can also search by keyword only.

Find it fast does not search the Intel® Embedded Community. A separate search function is provided for the Embedded Community.

+ What is the difference between Find it fast and the standard search box on the Intel® Embedded Design Center?

Find it fast lets you refine your search criteria to retrieve documents that correspond to the topic areas and document types you select. Keyword search retrieves all documents that correspond to the selected keyword.

Find it fast does not search the Intel® Embedded Community. A separate search function is provided for the Embedded Community.

+ What sites are searched by Find it fast and the standard search box on the Intel® Embedded Design Center?

Find it fast, as well as the standard search box on Intel® Embedded Design Center, search edc.intel.com and other Intel sites including ark.intel.com, developer.intel.com, download.intel.com, intel.com and software.intel.com.

Find it fast does not search the Intel® Embedded Community. A separate search function is provided for the Embedded Community.

Registration

+ Why should I register?

Registration is the key to obtaining the benefits of the Intel Embedded Design Center, including sharing information with the Intel® architecture embedded design community.

+ What is the difference between the two user levels?

The Public User level provides open access to public content on the site. Registering as a Public User lets you share ideas and insights and collaborate with other members of the Intel embedded community.

The Private User level provides Public User benefits plus password-protected access to private Intel information located on the site, including schematic and layout files and specification models, in addition to technical training, electronic support and Intel’s Tool Loaner Program.

+ What is the registration process?

To register as a Public User, complete and submit the online registration form, including your acceptance of the Registered Public User Terms & Conditions.

To register as a Private User, complete the online registration form. This includes submission of your business profile, and ultimately your acceptance of Registered Private User Terms & Conditions. All pre-existing CNDAs will require validation. Upon acceptance of your registration request, a new CNDA will be established if required.

+ How do I qualify for Private User status?

To qualify for Private User status, you must have a valid Corporate Non-Disclosure Agreement (CNDA) with Intel Corporation. If you do not have a CNDA on file, your eligibility for a CNDA will be reviewed by the Intel Embedded Design Center registration administrator and by the Intel field sales representative in your area.

+ How long does the registration process take?

While your private application is being processed a public account is created. You will receive an e-mail containing your public Intel® Embedded Design Center password and information on how to activate your account. This allows you to start sharing ideas, answer questions and collaborate with other members of the Intel® embedded community.

For those who qualify, it may take up to 10 working days to establish a private account. However, within 3 business days you will receive a private account status update.

+ Can I access other Intel sites with my Intel® EDC login?

The Intel® EDC shares Single Sign On capabilities with Intel® Software Network and Intel® Business Link. Each site has specific registration requirements that must be completed once, and users must use the same email address while registering with each site. A user who is logged into an Intel Software Network or Intel Business Link account can move to the Intel EDC and be logged into their existing account without entering separate login credentials. Registered Private users of the Intel EDC can login to their Intel EDC account and access their existing Intel Software Network or Intel Business Link accounts without entering separate login credentials.
