Configure IDV Server as Provision Server for IDV Host

Follow the instructions below to configure an existing IDV Server as a Provisioning Server to mass provision IDV Hosts.

Prerequisite

• IDV Server up and running, if not available, refer to the Setting Up IDV and Build Server section to set up the IDV Server.
• ISO Image for IDV Host, refer to the Create ISO Image for IDV Host section.

Setup

1. On the IDV Server, run the command below to complete the provision setup for the IDV Host. <Host ISO Path> is the full path which includes the ISO filename.

$ sudo /opt/idv/scripts/idvhost-ltsp-setup.idvserver.sh <Host ISO Path>

2. Ensure the guest OS qcow2 file is copied to /home/idvuser/imgs folder.

# To check on qcow2 file
$ sudo ls -l /home/idvuser/imgs

# Optional: If qcow2 file missing in the folder, follow the command to copy the qcow2 file
$ sudo /opt/idv/scripts/update-img.idvserver.sh --path <IMG_PATH> --os <windows/ubuntu>

3. The Provisioning Server setup to provision IDV Host is ready. Proceed to the next section for the instructions on how to provision the IDV Host.
