Intelligent Desktop Virtualization (IDV) for Education
IDV Server Setup
The IDV Server hosts the management console for monitoring and controlling IDV Guests on the network. In a lab or classroom setup, an instructor can use the management console to conduct lessons by sharing and broadcasting the instructor’s desktop to all student terminals (IDV Guests). In addition, all configuration data and virtual machine disk images are stored centrally on the IDV Server and are shared with IDV Hosts through network file share (NFS). Optionally, the IDV Server can also function as a Build Server to create ISO images for easy installation.
