Custom Installation

In order to cater to different debug use-cases, ISD allows user to customize the installation. In the new installer, we can see the included components and also the Customize option as shown below.

Four customization options are provided with the latest installer:

  1. Host Mode

This mode is used when the user wants to debug a target which is connected directly to the host via a debug probe. The below diagram illustrates this option and the approximate size of the installation (1.8 GB).

  1. On-Target Mode

This mode is used when the user wants to collect firmware and software traces directly on the target. The below diagram illustrates this option and the approximate size of the installation (726 MB).

  1. Proxy Mode

This mode is used when host and the target cannot be directly connected via a debug probe. This option helps to set-up an intermediate system which acts as a proxy between the remote host and the target. The below diagram illustrates this option and the approximate size of the installation (619 MB).

  1. IDV Mode

This mode is used when the user wants to collect and timestamp electrical activity across a number of signals and compare the collected data to a set of expected electrical specifications using the IDV (Intelligent Debug and Validation) tool. The below diagram illustrates this option and the approximate size of the installation (596 MB).
