video conferencing Best-in-class Wi-Fi technology as measured by OTA (Over the Air) Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) vs. Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) NB client Skype video conferencing test data, obtained in standard corporate IT 20 MHz and 40 MHz network deployment scenarios. Wi-Fi networks consist of 8 NB clients with 7 clients generating 10-20 Mbps Wi-Fi traffic (using iChariot traffic simulator) while 1 client conducts a 5 min Skype video conference session with a 9th client connected via 10/100/1000 Ethernet to a local server. Skype data obtained via Skype reporting application. 8 NB Wi-Fi network client specifications: Dell XPS 13 (10th Gen), Killer AX1650, Driver 21.90.0.9; OS: Win 10 19H1 64-bit, 9th NB Callee (wired) = Dell G7 15 7588, Killer E2400, Driver: 9.0.0.42, OS: Win 10 19H1 64-bit; Enterprise APs: (AC) Wi-Fi 5: Cisco 3800, FW: 8.10.128.91; (AX) Wi-Fi 6: Cisco 9130, FW: 8.10.128.91. Wi-Fi 6 performance benefits require use of similarly configured Wi-Fi 6 networking infrastructure (routers & APs) based on the IEEE 802.11ax wireless standard specification. Test data represents best case results through a controlled local network to show relative Wi-Fi 6 vs. Wi-Fi 5 technology differences. Actual real-world corporate results may vary and are expected to be higher due to 1) greater number of diverse clients, 2) higher network traffic levels, and 3) greater physical client distance from Skype server.

As measured by:

  1. Representative benchmarks for productivity, including SYSMark 25 overall score for overall application performance and WebXRPT 3 overall score for web browsing.
  2. Representative Usage Guide (RUG)testing on:
    1. Performance on the following tasks using Microsoft Office 365: 1) export Excel chart to Word document 2) convert Word document to PDF 3) convert PowerPoint to PDF 4) archive files. Data is collected on each task separately when device under test is settled at ambient temperature to allow reasonable clock frequency boost.
    2. Performance on productivity workflow consisting of four tasks (Microsoft Office 365: export Excel chart to Word document, convert Word document to PDF, convert PowerPoint to PDF; Windows Zip utility: file archive) that are run in succession without pauses.
  3. Unique collaboration features, including:
    1. Best in class wireless and wired connectivity: 11th Gen Intel Core processors are the only processors with integrated Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) and Thunderbolt 4.
    2. Modern Standby: 11th Gen Intel Core processors are the first to support 100% Modern Standby which enables significantly lower power than S3.
    3. Quad core audio DSP: Intel’s unique low power accelerator, coupled with Modern Standby, enables users of 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Alexa for PC enabled to wake and interact with the PC.
    4. Intel® Gaussian & Neural Accelerator (GNA) 2.0: low power AI accelerator that removes unwanted background noise from audio and video calls at significantly lower power than CPU implementations.
    5. Super Resolution for Intel® Graphics: Intel has partnered with Amazon to enable AI-based super resolution that upscales video from 720p to 1080p during video calls on 11th Gen systems enabled with Alexa for PC.
    6. AV1: Intel’s Iris Xe graphics is the first integrated graphics to provide fixed function hardware for PC AV1 decode. AV1 is designed to deliver longer battery life while video conferencing and help maintain video quality in lower bandwidth environments.
    7. Intel® DL Boost: VNNI: enables low power background blur.
    8. Intel® Image Processing Unit (IPU) 6.0: dedicated processor that performs advanced image enhancements (i.e. adaptive tone mapping, noise reduction and white balancing) to deliver crisp & colorful video conferencing, even in difficult lighting conditions.
