Intelligent Desktop Virtualization (IDV) for Education
Auto-Provisioning
The auto-provisioning method requires a staging process to pre-provision bare metal IDV Hosts. The pre-provisioning process involves installing and configuring the host operating system, installing virtual machines, and launching virtual machines at boot. The auto-provisioning method helps system integrators perform multiple device provisioning concurrently to support mass deployment.
After the IDV Hosts have been provisioned, the IDV Hosts can be deployed to the production environment.
The advantage of this method is that there is no network dependency for IDV Hosts to boot and function. However, any changes or modifications made to the IDV Hosts persisted in the IDV Hosts’ local storage.
