Stage 1: Provisioning Stage

The following section will guide you on setting up an existing IDV Server configured in the Setting Up IDV and Build Server or Setting Up IDV Server sections as a Provisioning Server. The Provisioning Server provides mass provisioning to IDV Hosts or new IDV Servers.

Provision Server

Initial IDV Server to automate mass provisioning for bare-metal IDV Hosts or new IDV Servers.

IDV Server

Teacher machine to serve as:

  • PXE server
  • Operating system (OS) image creation (if IDV Server is also Build Server)
  • Contains operating system images for IDV Host and Guest
  • Able to control and monitor IDV Host and Guest via Veyon

IDV Host

  • Load i3 Window Manager
  • Mount NFS
  • Download and cache IDV Guest machine images
  • Launch IDV Guest
