Configure IDV Server as Provision Server for IDV Host

Follow the instructions below to configure an existing IDV Server as a Provisioning Server to mass provision IDV Hosts.

Prerequisite

Setup

  1. On the IDV Server, run the command below to complete the provision setup for the IDV Host. <Host ISO Path> is the full path which includes the ISO filename.

  2. $ sudo /opt/idv/scripts/idvhost-ltsp-setup.idvserver.sh <Host ISO Path>
  3. Ensure the guest OS qcow2 file is copied to /home/idvuser/imgs folder.

  4. # To check on qcow2 file
    $ sudo ls -l /home/idvuser/imgs

    # Optional: If qcow2 file missing in the folder, follow the command to copy the qcow2 file
    $ sudo /opt/idv/scripts/update-img.idvserver.sh --path <IMG_PATH> --os <windows/ubuntu>
  5. The Provisioning Server setup to provision IDV Host is ready. Proceed to the next section for the instructions on how to provision the IDV Host.
